Little Boots at Le Poisson Rouge, 5.18.09

Like everyone else on the globe we’ve been obsessing over Little Boots for months and were stoked to catch her only NYC-area gig last night with HeartsRevolution at Le Poisson Rouge (also TLC’s Anniversary Party location!)

We saw HeartsRevolution back in March at Bowery Ballroom for their opening slot on Ladyhawke’s debut NYC gig. However, last night the center stage of Le Poisson Rouge seemed to be quite intimidating to Lo who kept getting tangled whilst taking swigs from a bottle of Jack Daniels.

It was a total pseudo-punk move but I worried when she was perched on top of the drums, screeched offstage mysteriously, then stumbled around onstage picking up the equipment. Nonetheless, their awesome style and unapologetic deameanor is always an entertaining sight.

The woman of the night Ms. Victoria Hasketh AKA Little Boots took the stage after 10:30 PM with Every Little Earthquake and rounded out the 10 song set with Stuck on Repeat. It was a pleasure seeing Little Boots doing what she does  live onstage as it’s been nearly 3 months since her Studio B show and our interview with her in February.

Little Boots’ debut album Hands is scheduled to be released later this summer, but until US-fans we will be treated to a new EP titled Illuminations on June 9th. Can’t wait to see her back onstage after the release of the full album!
