Hot Chip's One Life Stand + Tour Dates in 2010!
During CMJ week I came across these tiny 2-sided postcards that read “HOT CHIP” and “New Album February 2010 HOTCHIP.CO.UK” and that was all. I immediately scoured the internet for more information that night and came across a few forums with links to an unnamed album.
This morning we got the official news that Hot Chip will be releasing their fourth studio album One Life Stand on February 8/9, 2010! In a press release the album was described as the following:
One Life Stand sees a proliferation of influences as diverse as the 
burgeoning UK funky scene to soul music, modern R&B, Northern Soul, Gospel, Golden Age Electronica, House, the sounds of Arthur Russell, Prince and Theo Parish- and they all sit effortlessly alongside the band’s signature pop aesthetics, wild electronics, off kilter beats and intoxicating musical experimentation in a way that only Hot Chip can execute.
Sounds amazing to me! Pre-order the album this week on Amazon! In addition to the album news, Hot Chip have announcedUK tour dates and have pending US tour dates that can be seen HERE. London dates are below:

Hot Chip is an interesting outfit, but that Marvin Gaye remake is horrendous and offensive. It’s devoid of any kind of soul or funk feeling, and sounds lazy.
