Chew Lips’ NYC Debut Gig at Littlefield!
Last month Both Eyes Blog selected Chew Lips as Your New Obsession for March, leaving us extra psyched to catch the live show at SXSW! Unfortunately with all the chaos surrounding my schedule it was impossible to make it to ANY of their shows. Fortunately enough I was able to check out their debut New York performance (much cooler in my opinion) at Littlefield in Brooklyn.
Chew Lip’s debut studio album Unicorn was released earlier this year in the UK on the notoriously awesome French imprint Kitsuné to critical acclaim, and rightfully so. Last night Chew Lips’ spunky front woman Tigs along with band members Will Sanderson and James Watkins orchestrated a Monday night dance party at the Gowanus venue with a surprising number of fans chanting back the lyrics.
The South London band covered all of their bases with a rousing 11 song set before exiting into the crowd. Short and sweet, a perfect “school night gig.” Next up Chew Lips head back to the UK to play the Top Man CTRL curated gig on April 16th at the Arts Institute in Cardiff. Be sure to keep up to date with Chew Lips on Twitter.
