NME Gets Revamped With Help From 10 Opinionated Musicians
It’s the end of
NME as we know it. The iconic magazine has gotten a “wholesale redesign including a new logo and layout to introduce a slew of new editorial features” in an attempt to recapture sales in the dwindlling print industry.
The celebrate the relaunch, NME has enlisted 10 musicians to grace the cover: Jack White, Florence And The Machine, LCD Soundsystem, Rihanna, Kasabian, Laura Marling, Foals, MIA, Biffy Clyro and Magnetic Man. Additionally, the media blitz caused by some bold statements from some of our favorite pop stars pushes the launch into overdrive, nice work! Check out just a few quotes below:
Jack White: ‘The internet is a nuisance.’
Rihanna: ‘I hate doing product placement.’
Florence: ‘I would [do a song for the Twilight] soundtrack [but] it’s not confirmed yet…’
M.I.A.: ‘Lady Gaga – people say we’re similar, that we both mix all these things in the pot and spit them out differently, but she spits it out exactly the same! None of her music’s reflective of how weird she wants to be or thinks she is. She models herself on Grace Jones and Madonna, but the music sounds like 20-year-old Ibiza music, you know? She’s not progressive, but she’s a good mimic. She sounds more like me than I fucking do!’
Pick up one or all 10 covers for your chance to win a hidden Golden ticket that will “entitle the finder to two tickets to one of this year’s festivals including the Reading And Leeds Festivals, V Festival and T In The Park.”
