Concertgoer Wall of Shame: The Golden Filter at Mercury Lounge

In my 2+ years experience blogging for Tastes Like Caramel I’ve never  had a run-in with another photographer. I like to think of concerts as a way of bringing people together and with that there is an unspoken mutual respect between bloggers, photographers, photobloggers and of course the fans (which most of us are.)

However this particular photographer and newest addition to the Wall of Shame has little respect for anybody else, usually arriving to a show late and pushing his way to the front and blocking everyone’s view with his camera. Friday night was no exception. Long story short he knocked my female friend’s beer all over her and didn’t even have the decency to apologize, claiming that the 4 feet around him was HIS space. This went onto him saying in the most smug way:

“So it’s you guys who hog all the photo passes so you can take pictures with your shitty cameras for terrible blogs!”

#1) He photographs for a music blog which I respect and love (not his)

#2) I blog because I am a fan, the opportunity to see these shows is a hobby (of which I am grateful for) and not an entitlement.

I met one of my readers at that very show which made my night better though (Hi if you’re reading this!) I’ve never encountered such a rude person at a show, enjoy your 5 minutes of fame!
