Holy Ghost! Live Debut at Under 100
For whatever reason there was a large number of “secret” shows on Saturday night in New York, but the place to be was Under 100 – the DIY basement venue run by Damon Dash in Tribeca. Holy Ghost! duo Nick Millhiser and Alex Frankel played their first show as a live band with an all-star cast that included Chris Glover (Penguin Prison), Erik Tonnesen (Jump Into the Gospel) and Caroline Polacheck (Chairlift), attracting the likes of A-Trak, Friendly Fires‘ Ed MacFarlane (who was in New York celebrating his birthday), Les Savy Fav‘s Tim Harrington and Flosstradamus.
After having heard Holy Ghost!’s awesome Static on the Wire EP it was especially exciting to see them finally perform in an intimate location before they hit the mega stage of Terminal 5 later this week with LCD Soundsystem. It was a short but banging set that erupted into a face-melting dance party. Believe in Holy Ghost! Amen!
Check out TLC pal Abbey Braden’s video footage from the set over at ‘SUP MAGAZINE and be sure to purchase your copy of Static on the Wire tomorrow!
