Last Friday the entertainment world joined forces for the Hope for Haiti telethon, raising an impressive $61 million. One of the most moving performances came from Christina Aguilera who debuted a brand new song Lift Me Up, co-written with Sia from Xtina’s upcoming album Bionic – scheduled for an April release. You can purchase the exclusive 20-track iTunes charity album for just $7.99 HERE.

Rocket will be the lead single for the album which is scheduled to be in stores on March 23, 2010. Simultaneously Goldfrapp has also completed work on Christina Aguilera’s upcoming album and scored the John Lennon bio-pic Nowhere Boy.

“We are all really excited about going to AbbeyRoad Studios soon to record  the strings with the full orchestra.  The film is closing the London film festival and is premiered on 29th October at Odeon Leicester Square.  Now our work on the film is almost finished, we will carry on writing the  Goldfrapp album.”

The show began with Allison shining through a backdrop of lights, arms spread like wings and singing the opening notes of Utopia. The first half of the concert continued with mostly songs from the band’s latest album, Seventh Tree.

Allison finally gave us all what we really wanted when she sang songs from the ultra successful Supernature including: Train, Ooh La La, and the show stopper Strict Machine (and a hint of the remix from We Are Glitter). For the remainder of the night, my pal and I caught ourselves attempting to hit those notes from Strict Machine.

My only complaint about the show was the choice of venue, why Radio City Music Hall? The venue is expensive Goldfrapp is so dancey, who wants to be seated? Unfortunately this intimidated most concert goers to stay seated during the show, but not I!
